Report: Fla. man died saving girlfriend during armed robbery

ORLANDO -- A man was shot and killed during an armed robbery Saturday after struggling with a man who was pointing a gun at the victim's girlfriend, reports the Orlando Sentinel.

Robert Bosso's father said the 28-year-old and his girlfriend were approached by between three and five men late Saturday night near Bosso's apartment. One of the men allegedly pointed a gun at Bosso's girlfriend and demanded money.

The newspaper reports that Bosso grabbed the suspect and yelled for his girlfriend to run. He was shot and killed during the ensuing scuffle. Police have not confirmed that account, but CBS affiliate WKMG reports that it was the second armed robbery to occur in that apartment complex last week.

On September 21, a man was held at gunpoint while walking to his mother's car in the parking lot of the Verona at Valencia Park Apartments, according to police. The victim told investigators the gunman stole his wallet, then told him to count to 20 and threatened to kill him if he turned around.

Police are continuing to search for suspect in connection with both crimes.
