(CBS) The silence on the Charlie Sheen front was too good to be true. Sheen himself isn't yapping, but it's probably just a matter of time. TMZ reports the actor is in talks to star in a new sitcom.

According to the site, Sheen is negotiating a "big offer" for a new series. It could debut as soon as January. TMZ reports there's no pilot and the show would be written specifically for Sheen.

Sheen was fired from "Two and a Half Men" after several run-ins with the law, a home rehab stint and ranting publicly about his then-boss, "Men" co-creator Chuck Lorre. Since then, he went on the dreadful and mostly negatively reviewed "My Violent Torpedo of Truth/Defeat is Not An Option" tour and was replaced by Ashton Kutcher on "Men."

And then there's this: The Daily Mail reports Sheen's divorce from Brooke Mueller is final with a judge granting her $55,000 a month in child support and "lump sum of $757,698.70." Sheen recently listed his home for $7.2 million.
