Read all about it! Be a part of 'CBS This Morning Reads'

(CBS News) Tuesday on "CBS This Morning," co-hosts Gayle King, Charlie Rose, and Norah O'Donnell kicked off "CBS This Morning Reads," a monthly reading initiative with our viewers and readers. The first book on our lineup is "Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln," by Doris Kearns Goodwin.

The New York Times best-seller covers the Great Emancipator's rise to the presidency and beyond, and includes profiles of three of his political rivals who were ultimately tapped to serve as cabinet members in Lincoln's administration. The historical work is being re-released to coincide with Steven Spielberg's highly anticipated film, "Lincoln," based in part on "Team of Rivals."

Each week, we'll release excerpts, extras, and reading guides on the CBS This Morning site and on November 15th, historian and Pulitzer Prize winner, Doris Kearns Goodwin, will join the broadcast to talk about her work on the book and the film.

Be sure to check back here often and share your thoughts on the book with us on Twitter and Facebook.

Don't forget to purchase the book on Amazon.com or at Barnes & Noble.com.
