2-year-old falls to death from Pa. home's attic window

DUBOIS, Pa. -- Police and a coroner are investigating the death of a 2-year-old who fell from the third-story attic window of a home in western Pennsylvania.

Sandy Township police and the Clearfield County coroner's office say it appears the fall Tuesday night was an accident.

Authorities haven't released the toddler's name and a coroner hasn't announced details of the child's death as the investigation continued Friday.

Police said in a news release Friday that the child died at a hospital shortly after the fall.

Police Chief Don Routch told CBS Altoona affiliate WTAJ -TV Wednesday that the family was grieving.

Coroner Mike Morris didn't immediately return a call Friday seeking comment on the progress of the investigation.
