Olivia Newton-John "in shock" after man found dead in her home

Olivia Newton-John and husband John Easterling say they are "in shock" after a man was found dead from a gunshot wound inside their Florida home on Monday.

In a statement released Tuesday to Entertainment Tonight, a spokesperson for the couple said: "Olivia and her husband John are in shock over the tragic event that occurred at their Florida home yesterday. At this time we are awaiting additional information from investigators but can confirm that the couple was not in Florida at the time and, the deceased was not a family member."

Jupiter police Sgt. Scott Pascarella said Monday that the victim is a 42-year-old man who didn't live there and wasn't related to the residents. Pascarella says the victim had permission to be at the home but wasn't staying there.

The Palm Beach Post reports that the man was a contractor. According to the paper, contractors were doing work at the home Monday and one of them was seen crying Monday afternoon.

Initial media reports listed the death as a suicide, but Pascarella said it's classified as a death investigation. He didn't say whether foul play was involved.
