(CBS/AP) MOORHEAD, Minn. - A former girlfriend of O.J. Simpson has been jailed on charges of stealing pain medication from a patient.

CBS Minnesota reports Christina Michelle Prody, 37, is accused of stealing pain killers from the home of a Moorhead couple where she worked as a nurse's aide.

Prody's patient's wife reportedly noticed that nearly 300 tablets of his oxycodone were missing two months ago. According to court documents, the wife installed a surveillance camera that recorded Prody stealing other pills last week.

The Forum reports the video allegedly shows Prody stealing morphine and Iorazepam. According to court records, she told investigators she took the pills because she is addicted.

Prody was charged Monday with six counts including burglary, theft and drug possession. She remained in jail Tuesday and did not immediately return a call from The Associated Press seeking comment. Her public defender declined comment.

Prody had a 13-year relationship with Simpson after he was acquitted of the murders of his ex-wife Nicole, and her friend Ron Goldman in 1994. Simpson is now serving a prison sentence for armed robbery and kidnapping.
