Neil Diamond announces engagement on Twitter

(CBS) Neil Diamond is engaged to his manager, Katie McNeil.

The 70-year-old "Sweet Caroline" singer shared the news via Twitter on Wednesday.

"Good news coming from sunny LA/ and you're the first I want to tell/ Katie & I just got engaged/ and I hope you wish us well," he wrote.

He then posted a photo of his fiancee, writing, "I'd like you to meet Katie. I'm lovestruck. I took this photo in London last month."

McNeil produced Diamond's 2009 documentary, "Neil Diamond: Hot August Night/NYC." She has also worked on documentaries for Motley Crue, Stone Temple Pilots and the Psychedelic Furs, according to E! Online.

This will be Diamond's third marriage.
