Michigan radio host killed in suspected murder-suicide

ROYALTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. --Authorities say a southwestern Michigan morning radio show host and her husband have been found dead in a suspected murder-suicide.

Michigan State Police released a statement saying the bodies of WSJM host Denise Bohn-Stewart and Eric Stewart were found in their home Tuesday. The release says investigators believe Stewart killed his wife before killing himself.

Police said Bohn-Stewart was shot several times in an upstairs bedroom by Stewart, 50, CBS Detroit station WWJ-TV reports. A handgun was found near his body in the home's basement.

State police 1st Lt. Chuck Christensen told the station there was evidence of domestic problems between the couple.

Lt. Mike Dawson says the couple's three children were at the Royalton Township home, and one called 911. Dawson says the children - ages 10, 9 and 8 - weren't injured and were taken to a safe location.

St. Joseph-based WSJM posted a statement on its Facebook page.

The 45-year-old Bohn-Stewart previously worked at WSBT-TV in South Bend, Indiana.

Autopsies are scheduled Wednesday.
