Matthew McConaughey cast in "The Wolf of Wall Street"

(CBS News) Matthew McConaughey has signed on to appear in Martin Scorsese's upcoming film, "The Wolf of Wall Street," starring Leonardo DiCaprio.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, McConaughey will portray Mark Hanna, the early boss and mentor of former broker Jordan Belfort (DiCaprio).

The movie, which starts shooting this month, also stars Jean Dujardin, Jonah Hill, Rob Reiner and Kyle Chandler.

The movie is based on Belfort's best-selling memoir of the same name. It centers on a New York stockbroker who won't cooperate in a large securities fraud case involving corruption on Wall Street and mob infiltration.

McConaughey is currently in theaters with "Magic Mike" and "Killer Joe." "Magic Mike" star Channing Tatum recently revealed that he's working on a sequel to the film.
