Man arrested in violent robbery at Brooklyn subway station, police say

(CBS) Police arrested a man Tuesday in connection with the violent robbery of a 56-year-old woman at a Brooklyn subway station, CBS New York reports.

Charges are pending against the 21-year-old man who was arrested in connection with the March 9 attack, police said.

The arrest was made after police released a surveillance video Tuesday showing the robbery, in which a woman was attacked after getting off a southbound F train at the 18th Avenue station around 2:40 a.m, CBS New York reports.

The video captured the suspect grabbing the woman, throwing her to the ground and brutally beating her before emptying her purse, according to CBS New York. Police said the victim sustained minor injuries.

No further details were released in the arrest.
