TMZ reports that the actor/rapper fought off a burglary suspect inside his Studio City, Calif., home early Wednesday morning.

Los Angeles police officials told KCBS-TV in Los Angeles that a call came in around 1 a.m. from a female who said someone had broken into her house. She told a 911 operator that her father was with the prowler downstairs.

According to TMZ, when LL Cool J, 44, heard "commotion" downstairs, he went to check it out - only to find an intruder in his home. He detained the suspect until police showed up to the scene to make the arrest on suspicion of burglary.

Police say the man had minor bruises, while LL Cool J wasn't hurt in the incident, reports The Associated Press. No items were stolen.

The new season of "NCIS: Los Angeles" premieres Sept. 25 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
