(CBS News) A day after LeAnn Rimes celebrated her 30th birthday, she checked into a treatment center to help deal with emotional issues.

"LeAnn has voluntarily entered a 30-day in-patient treatment facility to cope with anxiety and stress," her rep, Marcel Pariseau, told People. "While there will be speculation regarding her treatment, she is simply there to learn and develop coping mechanisms. While privacy isn't expected, it's certainly appreciated."

Rimes celebrated her 30th birthday on Wednesday with a quiet dinner, reports Us Weekly. She entered the facility on Wednesday. Her rep said the county singer is not getting treatment for an eating disorder or substance abuse.

"This is just a time for me to emotionally check out for a second and take care of myself and come back in 30 days as the best 30-year-old woman I can be," Rimes said.

The singer's husband, 39-year-old actor Eddie Cibrian, told People he supports his wife's decision to seek help.

"My wife is the most remarkable and courageous woman I know," he said. "I am so proud of her for having the strength to finally take some time for herself. I will be with her every step of the way."

Rimes and Cibrian wed in April 2011.

Meanwhile, Rimes has been hard at work on new music as she gears up for the release of her album, "Spitfire," due out spring 2013. She has a batch of tour dates lined up, too, beginning with a Sept. 7 appearance on Eau Clare, Wis. Her rep said Rimes will keep those commitments. Dates are scheduled through mid-December.
