Lea Michele pays tribute to Cory Monteith on the third anniversary of his death

Lea Michele paid tribute to her late boyfriend, Cory Monteith, on the third anniversary of his death.

On Wednesday, the "Scream Queens" and former "Glee" actress posted a photo of Monteith by the ocean on Instagram and wrote, "We may not have gotten to share a lifetime together.. But the memories.. they're the best of my life.. Love you Cory."

Monteith, who starred in "Glee" with Michele, died in a Vancouver hotel room from a lethal mix of heroin and alcohol on July 13, 2013. The actor had struggled with substance abuse for years and spent time in rehab the year before he died.

Michele has spoken candidly about Monteith's death in the past, and how she overcame her loss. Last year she talked about dating again and said, "I worked very, very, very hard and I got back to that place where I was genuinely happy and strong and ready to live again and see the world and, you know, bring in more beautiful experiences."
