It's not too late to book a summer vacation and The Saturday Early Show discovers some last minute destinations from Travel and Leisure magazine that will not leave travelers' pockets empty.

Heidi Sherman Mitchell, the associate editor of Travel and Leisure, recommended the places to travel for a great time with affordable prices:

  • Napa Valley and Sonoma Valley, CA
The Napa Valley trip starts at $466 per person. This is a great deal because it includes air and hotel fair for two to four nights. This deal is good for the first two weekends in July. The wine and great organic California cuisine makes a trip to this valley worth the travel.

The lodge at Sonoma is offering a 2002 escape romance tour. It includes a four-hour winery tour and tasting. The Sonoma packages start as low as $369.

  • Washington D.C.
What better place to spend for Fourth of July than in our nation's capital? D.C. boasts amazing museums that will entertain both adults and children. The deal includes round-trip air and three nights at the Wyndham City Center Hotel. This deal lasts until July 7 and more information can be found on www.expedia.com.

  • Nantucket
Deals are hard to come by on this popular summer destination. However, the Harbor House Village Hotel is running a great deal. Guests can stay four nights and get the fifth night free at the hotel. The Harbor House Hotel is a landmark hotel and it just underwent some renovations. The rooms feature an island-style theme.

Guests can view Nantucket's lovely beaches and quaint New England charm. Bike paths are all over the island so a car is not needed for travelers. Nantucket also boasts more than 800 pre-Civil War Houses in its historic district. Most were built around the harbor in town during the island's reign over the whaling business.

  • Carmel-By-The-Sea
This is one of the jewels of the California coast. It is a favorite getaway on the West Coast. Natives know that a few days in the charming town near Big Sur can make a relaxing difference in a stressful life. The seascapes are gorgeous.

Right now, travelers can get a great mid-week rate at La Playa. It is considered one of the area's nicest hotels. It rests in a picture-perfect setting amidst oceans of flowers and cypress trees. The special rate includes continental breakfast in bed. Guest also receives complimentary champagne and strawberries upon arrival.

  • London
If you want to head overseas, London is a great place to visit. Virgin Atlantic airways is offering air and hotel summer packages. The package includes round trip tickets and six nights at a hotel for $879. Tickets must be purchased by Aug. 23.

London is a great place to see historical items like the Tower of London and the Crown Jewels. This summer is especially a great time to visit because of the 50th anniversary of the Queen's reign.
