Lady Gaga uses FarmVille as marketing tool

Official "Born This Way" album cover.

(CBS/AP) In usual Gaga fashion, the pop-star is keeping her marketing techniques anything but ordinary.

Singles from Lady Gaga's newest album, "Born This Way," will be available first to fans through the online game "FarmVille."

Fans will have to complete tasks to hear each new track from the album, which won't be released anywhere else until May 23. The new social networking campaign will be taking place from May 17 to 19. The songs will be available on a neighboring farm called "Gagaville."

This partnership is a first for game-maker Zynga, and the first time music will be added to one of its online games.

Roughly 46 million people worldwide play FarmVille every month so it looks as if this just might be a social media jackpot for Gaga.

Lady Gaga has released three singles from this album so far, including "Born This Way","Judas" and "Edge of Glory."
