"I love my wife and am devastated to learn she filed for divorce," he said in a statement obtained by People magazine.

"I'm committed to this marriage and everything this covenant represents," he added, "and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make it work."

Kardashian, 31, and Humphries, 26, married on Aug. 20 in a lavish ceremony in Montecito, Calif. It was taped for a TV special, which aired on E! earlier this month.

The TV personality's divorce filing cites irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. The documents say that the couple has a prenuptial agreement, and asks the court to deny spousal support to Humphries.

"After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage," Kardashian said in a statement to E! News. "I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don't work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best."
