John Leonard has been the critic for CBS News Sunday Morning since 1988. In his weekly appearances, he reviews television, movies, and books, and provides commentaries on the media.
In addition to his role at CBS News, Leonard has worked for The New York Times Magazine, Newsday and The Nation, and is the book critic for Fresh Air on National Public Radio.
Earlier in his career, Leonard worked for The New York Times from 1967-1982 in various positions. He was a political columnist for Esquire magazine in 1969, a television critic for Life magazine from 1969-1972 and Newsweek in 1973, and was a writer for Vanity Fair magazine in 1983.
