Jewel told People magazine she learned she was pregnant on the same day she started work on the upcoming Bravo reality TV series.

"I took a pregnancy test and it was positive!" the singer, 36, said. "It was so hard to keep it a secret. I was worried I'd start throwing up on set and everyone would be like, 'Oh, she's pregnant.'"

Now in her second trimester, she and Murray, who competed on "Dancing With the Stars," decided to share the news.

"We're so excited to be expecting our first baby," Murray, 41 told the magazine. "We always knew we wanted to have a child, and this time in our lives feels right."

The couple, who married in the Bahamas in 2008, said they have been trying to have a baby for two years.

"I have always been a workaholic, so I had to learn how to slow down and take care of myself in a different way," Jewel said about her difficulties conceiving.

The pair are  remodeling their Texas home and converting the guest room into a nursery.

"I'm trying to be in the moment and really enjoy my pregnancy," she said. "I feel really lucky."
