Jessica Simpson gives birth to baby boy

Jessica Simpson's daughter has a new playmate -- a baby brother named Ace.

Simpson's representative confirmed that the entertainer gave birth to Ace Knute in Los Angeles on Sunday via planned C-section. The details were first reported by Us Weekly. A rep said, "Ace Knute (pronounced Ka-nute) Johnson has arrived! Mom and baby are doing great. Jessica, Eric and Maxwell are thrilled to welcome the new addition to their family."

In March, Simpson told Jimmy Kimmel that she felt "awful" during this second pregnancy, revealing she had been vomiting a lot more, before blurting out, "The crazy thing is I never knew a wiener could make me nauseous!"

This is the second child for Simpson, 32, and her fiance, Eric Johnson, 33, a former NFL player. Simpson gave birth to daughter Maxwell last year.

Simpson, who got her start as a singer and has a successful apparel and accessories line, most recently appeared on NBC's "Fashion Star."
