The country, which is picking up half the tab for the nuptials of its heir, has billed this as its "Summer of Love" with a sign designating Stockholm's airport as the "Official Love Airport 2010." Royalty from all over Europe and Asia and journalists from around the world are arriving there daily in anticipation of the Saturday wedding.

Some 2,300 journalists are expected to cover the event which will be broadcast live to more than 500 million people.

Festivities began Friday with a Palace lunch hosted by the bride's father, King Carl Gustaf, and a Swedish Government dinner at Eric Ericson Hall in Stockholm.
