Industry Moves: Bourkoff, Lewisohn Reported To Head UBS Global Media-Comm M&A

This story was written by Staci D. Kramer.

Aryeh Bourkoff and Mark Lewisohn will be joint global heads of media and communications for UBS, reports DealBook. They are to succeed Jeff Sine, a vice chairman who is resigning, according to the NYT blog's sources; the announcement is expected Thursday. Bourkoff remains in New York; Lewisohn is based in London. Bourkoff was a respected cable and telecommunications analyst, who moved over to investment banking in 2007. His deals have included Liberty Media's recent investment in *Sirius XM*, the Sundance Channel sale to Cablevision's Rainbow Media Holdings, and the ongoing restructuring of *Charter Communications*.

The moves come at a fragile time for UBS, which has cut its bonus pool by 80 percent, and for the media and communications business. It's notable that two of Bourkoff's recent deals involved helping rescue debt-laden companiesand likely those aren't the last.
