Industry Moves: Blinkx; FremantleMedia; Metacafe; Yangaroo

-- blinkx: Tech consultant Jonathan Spira is succeeding Matthew Service as CFO this month, following the latter's move up to the COO post at the San Francisco video search engine. Spira comes to blinkx from J.Phineas International, a business consultancy company he founded. Before that, he had served as CFO at several small tech companies over the past 20 years. Release.

-- FremantleMedia: Ramping up its web efforts, the company has appointed former *Yahoo* exec Howard Stein as SVP of digital development, Variety reports. In this new position, he will work closely with FremantleMedia Enterprises while also developing original online franchises. When he was previously heading up development and production of original programming at *Yahoo*, Stein produced the emerging music artist platform, Who's Next, among other projects.

-- Metacafe: Jack Rotherham has joined Metacafe as SVP of strategic sales and partnerships. He comes from *AOL's* *Platform-A* where he oversaw strategic planning and monetization initiatives for video and social media. Prior to his career in digital media, Rotherham spent nearly 20 years in magazine publishing, including Teen People publisher for Time Inc.

-- Yangaroo:  Josh Zieman has joined the digital media distribution company as SVP of business development. Zieman, a former marketing VP at EMI's Manhattan/Blue Note label, will be based in Los Angeles as the Toronto company works on expanding its U.S. presence.
