Ind. Police: Woman Texts About Robbery Opportunity
A 22-year-old South Bend man learned the hard way that a female acquaintance wasn't sending text messages about a potential hookup. Police said the man told them he had invited the woman to spend Monday evening at his apartment before he took a large roll of cash out of his jacket pocket. He said she saw the money and began sending nonstop text messages until he heard a knock on the door.
The man opened the door and encountered a masked man holding a gun and demanding money. He said he was hit on the head with the gun, but ran to a different part of the complex and called police.
The woman and the gunman were gone when he returned to his apartment, although nothing appeared to be missing.
