In Memoriam: Paying Respects

In Virginia, Gov. Tim Kaine declared Friday, April 20, 2007, a
statewide Day of Mourning in memory of the dead and suffering at
Virginia Tech. He has asked the nation's governors join those mourning in his state over the deaths at the Blacksburg campus.

Communities across the country held interfaith prayer ceremonies and moments of silence that began with the ringing of bells at 11 a.m. EDT. Flags around the nation will remain at half staff until sunset on Sunday to honor the victims.
