Homeless man wounded by police in shooting at Florida Atlantic University, report says
(CBS) - BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic University police shot and wounded a homeless man who showed a knife when police responded to a report of a person on a roof, CBS affiliate WPEC reported.
FAU police report the call came in at 10:01 a.m. from 3701 NW 8th St. FAU police officers went on the building's roof, where a white man said to be in his 20s or 30s produced a knife.
The wounded man man was taken to Delray Medical Center in serious condition, WPEC reported.
The shooting happened in a corporate research section of the Florida Atlantic campus, away from where most classes are held.
The campus was not placed on lockdown.
