Harrison Ford could miss eight weeks of "Star Wars" filming

Harrison Ford's recent ankle injury could keep him away the "Star Wars" set for about two months.

The 71-year-old actor paid a visit to the hospital last week after injuring his foot while filming "Episode VII." Now a production source tells The Hollywood Reporter that Ford, who's returning as Han Solo, will likely miss eight weeks of filming. Still, the production will go on in his absence, with the on target for its Dec. 18, 2015 release date.

Director J.J. Abrams is behind the latest installment, which stars familiar faces Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Mark Hamill, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker. They will be joined by Domhnall Gleeson, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Daisy Ridley,, Max Von Sydow, Gwendoline Christie and Lupita Nyong'o.

Filming kicked off last month in both London and Abu Dhabi.
