"Guardians of the Galaxy" get serious in new international trailer

Marvel UK has released an amazing new international trailer for the upcoming superhero action spectacular "Guardians of the Galaxy," and this time things are getting serious.

"Guardians of the Galaxy," adapted from one of Marvel's lesser-known comic book franchises, follows a group of reluctant heroes who are thrust into a position of responsibility for saving the universe from an all-consuming evil.

FIRST TRAILER: Meet the "Guardians of the Galaxy"

In this awesome new spot, we get a look at the interactions between the different Guardians, and get a feel for how the film plans to balance its dramatic and intense story and visuals with its ever-present sense of humor.

"Guardians of the Galaxy" stars Chris Pratt as the intergalactic thief Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as the deadly assassin Gamora and Dave Bautista as the violent manic-turned-hero Drax the Destroyer. Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper also lend their voices to the giant plant monster Groot and the trigger-happy Rocket Raccoon.

"Guardians of the Galaxy" is set to explode into theaters Aug. 1, 2014.
