Grumpy Cat going from meme to movie star
One adorably grouchy cat is heading for the silver screen -- Grumpy Cat is getting a movie deal.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the fierce feline has an agent and has landed a movie deal. Broken Roads Production has bought the option for a film based on the cat's likeness, the newspaper reports.
Grumpy Cat, whose real name is Tarder Sauce, gained Internet fame when his photo became popular on websites like Reddit.com. Known for always sporting a grumpy frown, the cat's photo is usually accompanied by captions that are equally sour.
The feline stole the show at South by Southwest Interactive this year and won a 2013 Webby Award for meme of the year.
There are no details on when a film might start production and possible co-stars.
