George Lopez to roast Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is getting roasted.
George Lopez will host a celebrity roast in honor of the basketball star on Nov. 17 in Los Angeles. A batch of athletes, celebrity guests, presenters and performers will be on hand, including Earvin "Magic" Johnson, the "Showtime" Lakers and others.
This is the first time Abdul-Jabbar will be roasted. Since his retirement as a player in 1989, he has focused on projects centering on African American history and education. The 7-foot-2 Hall of Famer has also written seven best-selling books and is currently writing three new children's books, due out in 2013.
The upcoming roast kicks off a national multi-city tour dubbed "The Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Experience," featuring a never-before-seen traveling exhibit of memorabilia from of Abdul-Jabbar's life.
