Flu does in robbery suspect: Nathaniel Chambers, Conn. man, captured after he went to hospital for treatment

(CBS) A robbery suspect accused of assaulting two men was arrested Tuesday while he was at a Connecticut hospital to get treated for the flu.

Talk about a sick feeling.

South Windsor police arrested 27-year-old Nathaniel Chambers at a West Haven hospital where he was seeking flu treatment, according to the Patch in Cheshire, Conn.

Sgt. Scott Custer said that once hospital staff learned he was on an arrest warrant, they held him there until he was released to police Tuesday afternoon.

Chambers is accused of assaulting 28-year-old Robert Lareau, the owner of Forced Induction Motorsports, and his 21-year-old employee, Ryan Kelleher, last week in the auto repair shop. A hospital spokesman said Kelleher was released from the hospital while Lareau remains in critical condition.

Chambers is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday on conspiracy charges to commit first-degree robbery and first-degree assault, the Patch reported. His bail was set at $250,000.
