WASHINGTON (CBS/KCAL) U.S. law enforcement officials have issued an alert warning that a new Barbie doll can do more than just record video.

A memo from the Federal Bureau of Investigation to law enforcement warns that "Video Girl Barbie" could be used to make child pornography using a digital video camera installed in the middle of her chest.

According to CBS affiliate KCAL, the small camera can record up to 30 minutes of video and audio that can be streamed directly to a computer, although officials say there is no evidence the doll can stream directly to the Internet.

Toymaker Mattel said in a statement that its "products are designed with children and their best interests in mind. Many of Mattel's employees are parents themselves and we understand the importance of child safety -- it is our number one priority."

The FBI says there have been no reported incidents involving the doll since "Video Girl Barbie" was first released in July.
