Ikea is recalling some 80,000 safety gates and safety gate extensions due to a potential fall hazard, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced.

According to the CPSC, the gates' locking mechanism can unexpectedly open. The Swedish furniture retailer has gotten reports of 55 incidents worldwide, resulting in 10 injuries; four of the incidents were in the U.S.

The recall includes PATRULL, PATRULL FAST and PATRULL KLÄMMA safety gates and safety gate extensions. The CPSC said PATRULL KLÄMMA gates were previously recalled in 2015.

The gates, manufactured in Denmark, were sold in stores and online from August 1995 through June 2016.

The CPSC said consumers should stop using the gates and extensions immediately and return them to Ikea for a refund.

Ikea can be reached at 888-966-4532.
