Digital Broadcast Fundings: Envivo Gets $25 Million; Verimatrix Gets More Funding

Couple of fundings in the digital TV space:
-- Envivio, the video encoding solutions provider for TV, IPTV, HD and mobile, has received a big $25 million funding. The round in the San Francisco-based company was co-led by private equity firms Harbourvest and Atlantic Bridge, as well as Samsung Ventures. Also in the round were previous investors Credit Agricole Private Equity, Crescendo Ventures, Innovacom (France Telecom), Harbinger Venture Management, Intel (NSDQ: INTC) Capital, NTT Finance, Saints Capital, Sigma Designs and Solidarity Fund QFL. BBC and CCTV in China used Envivo's solutions during their recent broadcast of the Beijing Olympics. More details in release.

-- Verimatrix, the content security firm which does watermarking and DRM for digital video for IPTV, pay TV and mobile TV, among others, has received an additional round of funding, this time for from SunAmerica Ventures. The San Diego company announced a big round from Goldman Sachs and others in July. More details here.
