Dead body found in suitcase in Calif. ditch ID'd

GLENDALE, Calif. - The Los Angeles County Coroner has identified a dead body found in a suitcase in Glendale earlier this week as 21-year-old Victor Moreno, reports CBS Los Angeles.

Moreno's body was discovered Monday by county public works employees, in a large suitcase in the Verdugo Wash, a man-made water drainage ditch.

The coroner did not release how the San Pedro resident died, pending an autopsy.

Authorities have said they suspect Moreno was killed somewhere else and then dumped in the wash. His death remains under investigation.
