(CBS News) Fans of the Dave Matthews Band now have a taste of what the group's new album will sound like.
Dave Matthews premiered a new song on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" this week. The track, called "Mercy," is expected to appear on the group's upcoming album, the first since 2009's "Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King."
Matthews performed an acoustic version of the song, alongside The Roots' "Captain" Kirk Douglas for the episode.
According to a tweet by producer Steve Lillywhite, the track won't be acoustic on the upcoming Dave Matthews Band album. There's no release date yet for the set, though it's expected out later this year.
Dave Matthews teamed with Fallon on the college-friendly "The Walk of Shame" during the episode, which was taped at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. President Barack Obama was the guest.
Dave Matthews Band kicks off a tour May 18.
