On Thursday, the paper reported, Clarke attended algebra class at Rio Americano High School and was seen on campus at 10 a.m. However, when Clarke's mother, Maggie, came to pick her up at 12:30 p.m., Clarke was gone.

The paper reported that her family feared she had been lured away by someone she met online. While she was missing, friends and family passed out leaflets near Clarke's school in Sacramento.
