Cops: Md. man charged in "domestic-related" murder, robbery

LANDOVER, Md. -- Prince George's County, Md. police arrested a man for the Monday murder of 36-year-old Shauntelle Marie Lewis, reports CBS affiliate WUSA9.

Tor Campbell, of Greenbelt, Md. is charged with first degree murder, the department announced in a tweet.

The department called the murder "domestic-related" in a media advisory released Tuesday.

When police arrived to the Landover, Md. scene, they found Lewis unresponsive, according to the advisory. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said Lewis' body was discovered by a relative. She suffered upper body trauma, WUSA9 reports.

Campbell, 39, was taken into custody Tuesday at his home, WUSA9 reports. He also faces charges of second degree murder and armed robbery.

A spokesman for the Greenbelt police confirmed to WUSA9 that they recovered a vehicle that appears to be linked to the case. According to the spokesperson, Greenbelt police attempted to make a traffic stop at about 4:30 a.m., but the car did not stop and they did not pursue it. A few minutes later the same car, a Nissan, was spotted in a wooded area near Greenbelt Road and Frankfurt Drive, where it had apparently been abandoned.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
