Cops: Calif. woman says she was kidnapped, held for 3 weeks

SANTA ROSA, Calif. - A Santa Rosa, Calif. woman says she was held against her will for three weeks and brutally assaulted before she was able to escape, reports CBS San Francisco.

Authorities say the woman, age 22, told them she was kidnapped at gunpoint three weeks ago in Santa Rosa and then held prisoner in a home. During that time, she says she was beaten and sexually abused, according to the station.

Detectives reportedly say the woman has injuries consistent with such an ordeal.

The woman told authorities she was able to escape the home Wednesday when she noticed her alleged captors had left a door open, reports the station. She then made her way to the Petaluma Police Department, about 15 miles away.

Based on the woman's account, a SWAT team was sent to the home on Thursday. A witness told CBS San Francisco that officers handcuffed several men and one woman at the scene.

According to the San Francisco Gate, several people were detained but no arrests have been made.
