Contract Worker Confirmed Dead In Texas Plant Fire

HOUSTON (AP) - A contract worker has been confirmed dead one day after a gas pipeline explosion and fire at a Houston-area petroleum plant.

A Wednesday night statement from plant contractor Turner Industries says Richard Shaw died in the Tuesday fire at the Enterprise Products plant in Mont Belvieu.

A statement issued by Enterprise Products says Shaw's remains were found Wednesday evening but offers no further details.

Turner Industries' statement quotes CEO Roland Toups as extending the Baton Rouge, Louisiana-based company's "sympathy and condolences to the Shaw family." He called Shaw "a dedicated employee."
