"Cold case" for Fla. businessman, $80K refrigerated trucks stolen

(CBS) LAUDERHILL, Fla. - A South Florida business owner is feeling left out in the cold, after thieves made off with two refrigerated trucks from his frozen dessert business, according to CBS Miami.

Both trucks are valued at $80,000.

Surveillance video of the Friday night heist in Lauderhill shows one man fiddling around in one of the Gelato Fino trucks. Then, minutes later, another man walked towards a second truck. The thieves drove off in one vehicle and returned hours later to steal the other truck - despite several anti-theft devices, CBS Miami reported.

Owner Parker said he's left with just one of his three-truck fleet.

"It's a huge problem for us," said Parker.

Parker says it's been difficult to fill orders for his 700 clients.

"We're scrambling," Parker said. "We're getting it done but we're scrambling."

According to CBS Miami, Parker said GPS monitors tracked one of the trucks to Miami but by the time detectives arrived there was no sign of it.

Parker said his insurance won't nearly cover the replacement cost. If you have information about the case, call Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.
