Coast Guard, divers rescue dozens of youths after boat capsizes off San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO— A boat capsized Saturday afternoon near Pier 45 in San Francisco dumping dozens of young people into the bay, San Francisco fire officials said.

CBS San Francisco reports that officials reported the incident at 4:24 p.m. on Twitter.

About 30 people were on the boat and some were trapped under the hull, according to fire officials.

The U.S. Coast Guard, helicopters and divers responded.

According to the Coast Guard, all 30 individuals were out of the water as of 5 p.m. No word yet as to their condition.

The San Francisco Fire Department said earlier in a tweetthat the boat was carrying 30 youths and that some were trapped under the boat’s hull.
