"I have a lot of work to do to be able to return the support I have received from so many people," the actor said in a statement released by his rep Wednesday.

"I want to say, 'Thank-you' to my fellow cast members, the crew of 'Two and a Half Men,' and everyone at CBS and Warner Bros ... for their concern and support," he added, specifically mentioning CBS chief Les Moonves and Warner Bros. TV division President Bruce Rosenblum.

In the statement, Sheen likened himself to another Hollywood actor who attracted notoriety for his off-camera behavior.

"Like Errol Flynn, who had to put down his sword on occasion, I just want to say, 'Thank-you,'" he added. "And to my fans, your good wishes have touched me very much."

The statement was released hours after authorities released a 911 call in which Sheen's neighbor, Dr. Paul Nassif, described the actor as "very, very intoxicated" and in pain.

The "Two and a Half Men" star, 45, is currently in rehab (reportedly in his home) after he was hospitalized following two days of alleged partying. His show is currently on hiatus while he seeks treatment.
