Cesar Millan cleared in animal cruelty investigation
Cesar Millan will not be charged with animal cruelty.
The "Dog Whisperer" star was under investigation after the Los Angeles County Animal Control officers and Santa Clarita Sheriff's deputies received an online complaint alleging animal cruelty against the celebrity dog trainer. Millan's attorney, Brian Klein, said in a statement that the investigation is now over and no charges will be brought.
The complaint stemmed from a "Cesar 911" episode from Feb. 26, during which an aggressive dog bit the ear of a pot-bellied pig.
Millan responded to the news and said in a statement, "I am pleased but not surprised by this news -- our animal handling procedures are safe and humane. Just like L.A. County Animal Control, my team and I are 100 percent dedicated to the proper care of all animals, including the farm pig in this case. I am continuing my work rescuing and rehabilitating even the most difficult problem dogs, which has saved the lives of thousands of animals that otherwise would have been euthanized."
In March, the National Geographic Wild stood by the star and issued a statement saying, "Cesar Millan is and will continue to fully cooperate with authorities in any investigation. He is confident that the investigation will show there was no wrong doing."
