CBS News Investigative Unit Wins Emmy Award
Last night, the CBS Evening News Investigative Unit won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Investigative Journalism in a Regularly Scheduled Newscast.
The first part of a five-month CBS News Investigation found a staggering number of rape kits -- that could contain incriminating DNA evidence -- have never been sent to crime labs for testing. In the second part of the report, CBS News found more than 6,000 rape kits from active investigations waited months, even years to be tested.
