Carrie Underwood donates proceeds from N.J. show to Sandy victims
Carrie Underwood announced at her sold-out show in Atlantic City, N.J. that all the proceeds from the concert would go to superstorm Sandy victims.
"I wouldn't feel right making any money off of tonight's show," she told the crowd, according to People. "So anything I make is going right back into the community here."
New Jersey's coastline was hit hard by the storm, which left many struggling with widespread gasoline shortages and power outages. Sandy also damaged some of Atlantic City's boardwalk.
"You know, after something like this, you wonder whether the show should go on," Underwood said to the crowd. "We thought, this building was still here, so it must be here for a reason."
The country star's "Blown Away" tour had already been donating $1 for every ticket sold to the Red Cross, since September.
