Carrie Prejean is Engaged

Carrie Prejean is exchanging pageant dresses for a wedding dress.

The former Miss California USA, 22, is engaged to St. Louis Rams quarterback Kyle Boller, 28, E! News confirmed on Sunday.

According to the report, the engagement happened on Saturday in Prejean's hometown of San Diego, Calif. The two began dating last July.

Prejean first received nationwide attention for an answer she gave during the 2009 Miss USA pageant, in which she stated her belief that marriage should be solely defined as a union between a man and a woman.

She has continued to make public appearances promoting her beliefs despite the revelation that she had breast implants, and the emergence of racy photos and an alleged sex tape.

A public battle with the producers of the Miss California USA pageant ended in her contract being terminated in June 2009, with K12 productions citing "continued breach of contract issues" as the reason for the termination.

Before Boller, Prejean was rumored to be dating Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps. Neither would confirm the relationship.
