Buzz Briefs: Hugh Hefner, Katt Williams

Sorry Hef, Ex-Girlfriend Prefers A Younger Man

One of Hugh Hefner's live-in girlfriends is trading the grotto for the gridiron.

The Playboy mogul said in a statement Thursday that "The Girls Next Door" co-star Kendra Wilkinson is engaged to Philadelphia Eagles receiver Hank Baskett. The 23-year-old model-actress has lived with Hefner since 2004 and currently co-stars as one of his three girlfriends in the E! reality series.

"I have given her my blessing and will be giving her away at a very special wedding ceremony at the Playboy Mansion this coming June," Hefner said.

The 82-year-old publisher's love life has been in flux. Last month, he and "No. 1" girlfriend Holly Madison called it quits. Twin 19-year-olds Karissa and Kristina Shannon are currently living with Hefner.

Comedian Katt Williams Not Laughing At Weapons Charge

Comedian Katt Williams has been arrested on weapons charges in midtown Manhattan after police say they pulled him over for driving a car without license plates.

The 35-year-old performer was released on bail Thursday in time to make it for his show at Carnegie Hall. He told the audience that he "just got out of jail."

Police say a handgun was found in Williams' car after he was stopped for the alleged traffic violation.

His attorney, Charles Ross, did not immediately return a call requesting comment early Friday.

Williams is best known for his role in the movie "Friday After Next" and for his appearances in rap videos. He also voices "A Pimp Named Slickback" in "The Boondocks" animated television series.

Madonna: The Show Must Go On In L.A.!

Madonna didn't let lighting and technical issues keep her from performing at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.

A statement from her publicist, Liz Rosenberg, says construction of the singer's stage came to a halt Wednesday due to an equipment malfunction.

Although damage to the top of the stage created several lighting and technical issues, Madonna decided to go ahead with Thursday night's show.

In an e-mail to The Associated Press, Madonna says: "Even though my stage roof was damaged and some lights and effects aren't working, I want to do the show anyway because I don't want to disappoint my fans."

Former "Hills" Star Loses Civil Case To Tow Truck Driver

A jury says former "Laguna Beach" personality Jason Wahler owes a tow truck driver $5,000 in damages for a confrontation more than two years ago.

Eight women and four men decided on Thursday that Wahler committed battery on Dario Stevenson. The driver said Wahler punched him in the face and hurled racial slurs at him and other blacks during a fight in September 2006.

Wahler, who also appeared on "The Hills," acknowledged testimony that he used racial slurs. Jurors rejected justifications by Wahler's attorney that his client was defending his girlfriend and was too drunk to know what he was saying.

Stevenson may receive punitive damages, but the amount is likely to be drastically smaller than the $1 million his attorney sought.

50 Cent Shows He's Business-Savvy In New MTV Reality Show

50 Cent has a new show on MTV, where business-savvy contestants compete for a shot at fame and a huge cash prize. But the rapper says he's not following the path of that other famous reality show hosted by Donald Trump.

"Immediately when you say a reality show that has a business spin to it, they think 'The Apprentice,' and the difference is these people don't actually want to work for me," the 32-year-old said in a recent interview. "They have their own business ideas that they created and they're competing for $100,000 in seed money."

"50 Cent: The Money and the Power" debuted Thursday. It features 14 contestants competing to show that they are the best entrepreneurs. 50 Cent will chop down the number of contestants until the winner is crowned.

The rapper and mogul said the show is like a visual companion to his upcoming book, "The 50th Law," with Robert Greene, who wrote "The 48 Laws of Power."

Rapper Mos Def Is Most Definitely Being Sought On An Arrest Warrant

Authorities say rapper Mos Def is being sought on an arrest warrant in Las Vegas after allegedly scuffling with a photographer at a fashion trade show in August.

Police say the 35-year-old rapper, whose real name is Dante Terrell Smith, is wanted on a warrant charging him with felony robbery and misdemeanor malicious destruction of property.

Officer Ramon Denby says police want Smith to surrender himself.

Smith's publicist in New York didn't immediately respond to messages seeking comment.

Sixty-year-old photographer Volker Correl was taking photos at the Men's Apparel and Garment Industry Convention when he says Smith ripped the camera from around his neck.

Correl says photos clearly show Smith reaching toward him before his camera was broken.

Hall & Oates Had "Private Eyes" Watching Over "Maneater" Rights

Singers Daryl Hall and John Oates have filed a lawsuit saying their music publisher failed to protect their rights to their 1982 hit "Maneater."

The duo's lawsuit says they learned in April 2007 that an unidentified singer-songwriter had used "Maneater" in a 2006 recording.

The papers, filed in Manhattan's state Supreme Court, claim Warner/Chappell Music Inc. breached its publishing contract with Hall and Oates by refusing "in bad faith" to sue for copyright infringement.

The singers seek unspecified money damages and want to terminate their agreement with Warner/Chappell.

A Warner/Chappell spokesperson did not immediately return a call for comment on Thursday.

Hall and Oates' hits also include "Rich Girl," "Private Eyes" and "I Can't Go for That (No Can Do)."

Keri Russell Steps It Up With Eve Harrington Role

Annette Bening, watch your back.

Keri Russell has been cast as the scheming Eve Harrington to Bening's stage icon Margo Channing in a one-night-only benefit reading of "All About Eve," the classic Hollywood film about life in the theater.

The reading, a benefit for the Actors Fund, will take place Nov. 10 at Broadway's Eugene O'Neill Theatre. Tickets are priced from $100 to $1,500.

Also in the cast are Brian Bedford as acerbic theater critic Addison DeWitt; Peter Gallagher as Margo's love interest, Bill; and Angela Lansbury as Birdie, Margo's clear-eyed, tart-tongued maid.

Others participating in the reading include Cynthia Nixon, Joel Grey, Zoe Caldwell, Jennifer Tilly and John Slattery.

Russell starred on television in the series "Felicity" and was in such films as "Waitress," "Mission: Impossible III" and "Honey, I Blew Up the Kid." She made her New York stage debut in Neil LaBute's "Fat Pig."

"All About Eve" was written and directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz. The 1950 film starred Bette Davis as Margo Channing and Anne Baxter as Eve Harrington, and won six Oscars, including best picture.
