Bus driver fired, teen charged after fight in Kenosha, Wis.

Bus fight between driver and teen caught on tape 01:20

KENOSHA, Wis. - Video surfaced this week of a fight between a Kenosha high school student and a bus driver, CBS affiliate WDJT reports. The station says the Wisconsin teen faces felony charges and the driver of the public transit bus lost his job.

The footage shows a teenager from Tremper High School in Kenosha, about 40 miles south of Milwaukee, rushing to the front of the bus and hitting driver Scotty Wells, who gets out of his seat and fights back. As the two exchange punches, the bus rolls forward and crashes into parked vehicles, one of which had people inside.

Wells lost his job as a result of the Jan. 17 altercation. The Kenosha County District Attorney's Office is reviewing the case against the student, who faces charges of recklessly endangering safety and battery against a transit bus driver. Both charges are felonies.

The union that represents Wells is attempting to get him his job back. Wells declined to comment to reporters about the incident.
