(CBS/AP) LAS VEGAS - Las Vegas police are investigating the deaths of a woman and girl at a home in a West Las Vegas neighborhood, after a 9-year-old boy told school officials Monday morning that his mother and sister were dead.

Officer Marcus Martin told The Associated Press that police arriving about 9 a.m. Monday found two people dead inside the house.

According to CBS affiliate KLAS, the dead included a woman and girl. A  4-year-old child and adult male were also found in the home. The child was unhurt, but the man has unspecified injuries, reports KLAS. Police are not sure of the relationship between the man, the dead woman, and the children.

Officer Martin says the 9-year-old boy told officials at nearby Hoggard Elementary School about the scene at the home.
