Blake Shelton says CMAs could get awkward after split

Running into exes can be awkward, and we imagine it's even more awkward when you're on TV.

Blake Shelton admitted that the CMAs might definitely get a little weird for him after his summer divorce from Miranda Lambert, his wife of four years.

On "Late Night with Seth Meyers," the country star said that he is worried about the inevitable jokes that will come during the awards show on Wednesday, Nov. 4, hosted by his buddy Brad Paisley.

"This year's gonna be awkward at the CMAs, speaking of jokes," said Shelton. "Because we are, it's such a family. Everybody there is friends. There's gotta be one about me and Miranda. Brad Paisley is not doing his job if he doesn't look down there and go 'Ha ha!' You have to address the elephant in the room. We've had the conversations like, 'Okay, dude. I'll sit there and let you kick me in the face a few times.' I know it's coming."

This will be his first time since 2007 attending the CMAs without his ex.

It's all good though -- Shelton said he doesn't mind being the butt of a few jokes. He has said before that he and Lambert still get along fine.
